Mud and Blood 2

Mud and Blood is a 2D, WWII strategy game mixed in with dark humor. Your squad is trying to fight back an endless wave of Nazis that are trying to break through your lines and destroy your soldiers.

Your starting squad, consisting of 4 rookies, which will be the first ones on the front line. A field of grass and usually some trees, doesn't really look much like a war zone. Soon your first Nazi will appear on the other side of the map and the onslaught will begin, slowly, wave by wave they increase in number. As you progress through each wave, you will earn 1 tactical point per wave, but 2 on the first 5 waves to help you set up your defences. Tactical points is the currency used in the game to buy new soldiers or upgrades for your current battle. You can buy Frenchies, the cheapest and weakest unit, all the way up to tanks and AAA guns.

You can also buy signalers which are units with a radio and engineers that will help you survive longer, like calling in an artillery strike or building bunkers. These will be needed when you are faced with a blitz wave, or a boss wave, where the Nazis send in a massive wave that can range from, 20 odd draftees and over power you with numbers or a few tanks and artillery to destroy your soldiers, but nothing an arty or two can't solve (if you can survive long enough). Well, the only thing an arty can't solve is an unfair event, which is well, unfair, like a very accurate plane bombing or an accurate arty strike.

Of course you could out number the enemy with your own hoard of Frenchies, but once a grenade goes out, one or two of them will get gibbed, and then the rest will run a way. It will also affect your chances of attaining certain medals, which are gained through various different accomplishments and they all give a small passive boost, like 5% more rifle skill to all of your troops.

M&B also has an xp and leveling system which unlock different starting options, instead of always beginning with 4 rookies, you can start with the tactical points that you have remaining from your last game or begin with 4 spec ops units.

With the amount of units you can purchase and the amount of structures you can build and the random waves of enemies, it will be hard to play the same round twice. It's always best to try out your own custom strategy but taking a look at some pre-made guides on the wiki or looking at the stats of the weaponry won't hurt.

Conclusion:

A very well executed RTS game which can be seen as a tower defense game but with a very good twist. You can download it from their website here or play it on various website on the browser.
